Bob Wyatt & Roni Dorn, The Cross Keys, Wallingford
Tenants with Brakspear for three years Bob Wyatt & Ronni Dorn of The Cross Keys, Wallingford are Brakspear Pub Award Winners two years in a row. Within that time they have changed the pub from a tired, unloved edge of town pub to a thriving, community hub.
"To be a successful pub business, we believe you have to be prepared to put everything in and most importantly like people! What we most enjoy about being a Brakspear tenant? There is nothing nicer at the end of an evening whether we've organised a music, bingo or darts night, for a customer to come up to you and shake your hand and thank you for a great evening." (Bob Wyatt & Roni Dorn)

Jayne Worrall, The Bull, Wargrave
Jayne Worrall has been a Brakspear tenant for more than 20 years. Following a brief break outside the industry six years ago, Jayne returned to take on The Bull. With great flair and with investment by Brakspear, Jayne has restored, refurbished and extended the business to make it the highly successful establishment it is today; a business that has a reputation for serious food and excellent accommodation. With a regular appearance in the Brakspear Pub Awards, in 2004 Jayne won the accolade of Pub of the Year.
So what is Jaynes recipe for success? Being hands on is essential, she explained. This coupled with a lot of hard work and a love of the way of life, Jaynes efforts have all paid off to make her an extremely successful businesswoman.
And why did Jayne choose to be a Brakspear tenant? Freedom to run your own business with a never ending supply of as much advice and help as you want. And you dont feel like a cog in a wheel with Brakspear!

Bob & Marian Slator, The Clayton's Lounge, Marlow
Bob & Marian Slator had been Brakspear tenants for over four years, when they decided they needed more of a challenge. Transforming The Clayton's Arms, a town centre pub, from a community pub destination into a city style lounge bar with tapas certainly provided that.
"The development of The Clayton's Arms into Clayton's Lounge was a leap of faith for us and Brakspear. We invested by purchasing a completely new inventory with Brakspear carrying out extensive structural work and adding extensions to the kitchen and trading areas costing over £200,000. This joint investment has paid off and has made us one of the most successful pubs in the area." "What do we most enjoy about being a Brakspear tenant? We enjoy being left the freedom to develop our trade knowing that we have the full support of Brakspear in maintaining the premises and moving the business forward." (Bob & Marian Slator)
