The Bull and Butcher is a quintessentially English pub, nestled between the Chiltern Hills, in the quaint village of Turville, 6 miles from Henley-On-Thames. Traditional home-cooked English pub food, large open fires, original beams, a relaxed pub atmosphere, fantastic real ales, an extensive wine list, and local chat is all maintained at the Bull and Butcher. There is also a large sunny garden, and patio areas, ideal for relaxing on a summer’s day after a long walk around the breathtaking countryside. Being in such a wonderful location, the pub and village have over the years attracted many film and television crews. The stunning scenery incorporates the "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" windmill perched on top of a steep ridge overlooking Turville. St. Mary the Virgin Church dating back to the 10th Century achieved its fame in the "Vicar of Dibley", which was based on Turville village and its inhabitants! "Good Night Mr. Tom" was also filmed in the village as are many of the "Midsomer Murders" episodes.
