Description

The Queens Oak is the only pub in the country with this name. Originally called The White Horse, the pub was renamed by Queen Victoria, who planted the large oak tree on the green opposite the pub. Standing on the site of a Roman Hostelry, it could well be the oldest pub in the country.  The pub attracts many people in love with the outdoors, ramblers, dog walkers and horse riders.  Typically a Great British Pub, serving wholesome, traditional home-cooked food with a cracking Roast on Sunday, with a good selection of ales and wines. The pub has a wonderful beer garden with a safe enclosed play area.  Join us on a sunny summers day for a BBQ when you may be lucky enough to see Morris Dancers or even a wedding from St James Church opposite.  Quiz night on a Thursday and look out for our regular music nights.
