Description

The Leathern Bottle is a beautiful Oxfordshire pub set in the foothills of the Chilterns, in the quiet village of Lewknor near Watlington. Whilst the Brakspear's pub itself dates back over 450 years, the current proprietors have successfully managed it and been a friendly face behind the bar for the past 30.

In that time The Leathern Bottle (otherwise known as Ye Olde Leathern Bottel) has established a reputation for great, home-cooked pub food offering an extensive menu across three bars and featuring both locally sourced meats and daily specials. The Lewknor pub regularly appears in the Good Pub Guide and serves the finest Brakspears beers. With roaring log fires in winter, and a delightful summer garden, all visitors will feel very welcome, whatever the weather!

The countryside around the Leathern Bottle is idyllic with plenty of walking trails, cycle routes, and bridlepaths. This area has the greatest concentration of Red Kites in England and a sighting of one of these amazing birds of prey (only the Golden Eagle is bigger) is almost guaranteed... and you won't even have to get up from your bench in the beer garden!
