The White Hart at Nettlebed is an historic and interesting building, and today is a quality modern hotel. There has been an Inn here since 1457, and in Tudor Times it was a posting house. During the Civil War King Charles I fled to Nettlebed after his defeat at the Battle of Reading in 1643 and it is rumoured that his troops stayed here until their surrender. Many things have changed since then but the character of the old building remains. Today the White Hart is a comfortable and modern hotel, with an excellent menu, 12 en-suite rooms, and a meeting room available. The White Hart’s twelve en-suite bedrooms have been recently refurbished. Six rooms in the original main 15th century building, and six rooms in the converted old stables. All rooms are en-suite and there are three superiors, one twin and nine standard doubles. For more information, please contact the White Hart direct.
