The name is taken from a Scots/American word to mean 'work of little value' or to us, a jolly! We can think of nothing better than going for a Boondoggle or two and enjoying this pale golden beer with a light citrus aroma and delicious fruity finish.

Brought back for one month only to mark the start of another academic year this classic well balanced all malt bitter is rich in colour, with a classic hop character that is both refreshing and satisfying.
|
An ale of tremendous complexity with a rich fruity taste and a terrific chestnut colour. |
Standing out from the crowd, an old favourite returns that always lives up to its name. Pale golden, well rounded flavours warm the pallet & come together with a hint of nuts, resulting in a robust fulsome aroma that hangs low 'til the last. A great excuse to go & see a man about a dog!

As owners of the famous Brakspear brands, we're justly proud of our heritage and the quality of our real ales. The current range of Brakspear Beers includes the famous ‘Double-Dropped’ Brakspear Bitter, Brakspear Oxford Gold blonde beer, Brakspear Triple in bottle, as well as a range of seasonal cask ales including old favorites such as Hooray Henley and Oh Be Joyful.
Following the closure of the Brakspear Henley brewery in 2002, much of the brewing plant was moved to the Wychwood brewery (owned by Marstons PLC) in West Oxfordshire. Following a major refurbishment of the Wychwood brewery Brakspear Bitter is still handcrafted in the original copper and the famous Henley ‘Double-Drop’ fermentation system. Visit www.brakspear-beers.co.uk for further information on the Brakspear brewing process.
At Brakspear we like to promote variation in real ales, therefore we have a great seasonal ale programme with a wide choice for our beer enthusiasts.
We have a different seasonal ale every month, most of which are brewed at Wychwood. This year sees the re-introduction of the much loved Brakspear Special, and also is a first time for Morrells beers to be seen in the Brakspear estate. We hope this seasonal offering is exciting for all our customers.
For those pubs with more than three handpulls, there is also the option for an extra selection of ales from the Marston's range. These include ales from the Marston's, Wychwood, Ringwood and Jennings breweries.
