As owners of the famous Brakspear brands, we're justly proud of our heritage and the quality of our real ales. The current range of Brakspear Beers includes the famous ‘Double-Dropped’ Brakspear Bitter, Brakspear Oxford Gold blonde beer, Brakspear Triple in bottle, as well as a range of seasonal cask ales including old favorites such as Hooray Henley and Oh Be Joyful.
Following the closure of the Brakspear Henley brewery in 2002, much of the brewing plant was moved to the Wychwood brewery (owned by Marstons PLC) in West Oxfordshire. Following a major refurbishment of the Wychwood brewery Brakspear Bitter is still handcrafted in the original copper and the famous Henley ‘Double-Drop’ fermentation system. Visit www.brakspear-beers.co.uk for further information on the Brakspear brewing process.
At Brakspear we like to promote variation in real ales, therefore we have a great seasonal ale programme with a wide choice for our beer enthusiasts.
We have a different seasonal ale every month, most of which are brewed at Wychwood. This year sees the re-introduction of the much loved Brakspear Special, and also is a first time for Morrells beers to be seen in the Brakspear pub estate. We hope this seasonal offering is exciting for all our customers and tenants in our great pubs.
For those pubs with more than three handpulls, there is also the option for an extra selection of ales from the Marston's range. These include ales from the Marston's, Wychwood, Ringwood and Jennings breweries.
